Content Credentials for publishing workflows
C2PA for Publishers: A Practical Guide
C2PA lets publishers bind supported digital assets to signed workflow assertions so a verifier can check the signature, content binding, and available trust evidence. The assertions remain publisher-supplied unless separate validated evidence supports them.
Choose which assets to sign, who may supply attribution and AI-use declarations, where signing belongs in WordPress or API workflows, and how signed originals survive distribution. Signing an archive later does not prove original capture, authorship, or first publication.
C2PA does not independently establish truth, editorial quality, publisher identity, copyright ownership, or legal compliance. Detached article sidecars are C2PA-based and require both article and manifest data for verification; they are not C2PA-certified.
